What can love do today?

A Quaker's Practice and Experience

Angels are as we experience them

See an angel? See a bird? See both? What do you see?

All of life is an inkblot. We are constant interpreters. Our interpretations are based upon the shape we give, and have given, to our lives. For me this morning, I saw an angel in the sky. (And a bird – click Continue Reading to see the picture)

How we interpret the people and events around us is the same process. Feeding our hearts, minds and souls good things every day is far more likely to lead to our seeing angels.

Walking or stumbling through the day, feeling out of sorts, day after day, will not lead to our seeing angels – not seeing them in our spouse, our friends, the people with whom we worship, the stranger on the street, the person at the counter who helps us out. These folks might be ignored, or they may irritate us. But if we seek angels, we are more likely to see angels. We are more likely to enjoy loving encounters.

A simple reminder – a routine followed every day that nourishes our very being builds a foundation for a better day and a better life. Daily setting aside anything from fifteen minutes to an hour to read, to settle, to reflect and listen, and save some time to write – and your life can be warmer, more loving, more spirit filled, and more responsive to the opportunities that are sacred, nourishing, and supportive of our taking the actions that are based on the sacred, based on the holy, based on the still small voice, shaped by the important things we have learned in life.

May your day bring angels in your path, and may you have the nurture and nourishment to see them, greet them, and be grateful. – Larry
